The OCAA Curling Championships will take place this weekend in
Hamilton, ON as Mohawk College is set to host the event from March
2-5. This four-day event will feature nine Colleges from across the
province battling it out in men’s and women’s
competitions that will crown OCAA champions Monday afternoon.
Mohawk will be hosting a stellar field of competitors featuring
last year’s defending champions in both events. Last year the
Seneca Sting won the men’s competition while the
Confederation Thunderhawks won their seventh women’s title in
eight years, continuing their dominance over the OCAA curling
scene.
A unique aspect to the OCAA Curling Championships this year will be
the running of the 2007 Tim Hortons Brier that will begin on
Saturday, March 3rd in Hamilton. Former OCAA curler Brad Jacobs
(Algoma) makes his Brier debut for Northern Ontario.
