HUMBER WOMEN GO UNDEFEATED, WIN THIRD ANNUAL BONSPIEL

TORONTO - The Humber Hawks curling team hosted their third annual curling bonspiel this weekend at the Weston Golf and Country Club, featuring six teams from across the province.

Fanshawe, Fleming, Mohawk, St. Clair, Seneca and Humber made up the draw, playing each other once over the two-day event in a round robin format.

The Hawks women's team captured the title in emphatic fashion, heading into their final match on Saturday night against Fanshawe with both sides a perfect 4-0. Going into the 10th and final end up 2-1, with a tie ensuring the Falcons gold, skip Grace Esquega drew to the button on the final shot to give Humber the 3-1 win and championship.

On the men's side of things, Mohawk went 5-0 and came away with several close victories over the weekend; the Hawks were missing several key players but still managed impressive wins over Seneca and St. Clair. Humber's Allan Osborne, along with Esquega, where selected to the all-star team.
