OLDS, Alta. - Avery Thomas and her Mohawk College women's rink, fashioned a terrific comeback against Fanshawe to win 8-7 in 11 ends in the final draw of day two at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Curling National Championship in Olds, Alta. on Thursday.
The Mountaineers, who trailed the Falcons 4-1 after five ends, scored deuces in the sixth, eighth and 10th ends before stealing the winning point in the extra end.
Mohawk improved its record to 2-3. with two more round robin games on Friday. The Thomas foursome will meet McEwan University of Edmonton in the morning and Holland College of Charlottetown in the afternoon.
