WIN-LOSS FOR MOHAWK IN DRAW 5 OF OCAA CURLING

THUNDER BAY, Ont. - Mohawk College's mixed team broke into the win column in Draw 5 of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Curling Championships in Thunder Bay, Ont., on Friday.

Megan McArthur and company exploded for four points in the fourth end and five in the sixth, to rout host Confederation 10-3.

McArthur's foursome improved to 1-2 and is finished for the day. The team will face Humber Saturday morning at 8 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Mohawk men gave up three in the fourth end and one in the eighth, losing 6-4 to undefeated Humber.

Logan James and his Mountaineer crew dropped to 2-2, which is good for fourth place in the round robin portion of the event, while the Hawks moved to 4-0.

In the 3:30 p.m. draw, the final one of the day, Mohawk will play Sault College, which is 4-0.
