OCAA ANNOUNCES WOMEN’S FASTBALL ALL-MILLENNIUM TEAM

The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) is proud to announce the twelve members selected to the Women’s Fastball All-Millennium team. The players nominated, who all played prior to the change of the millennium, are led by the Durham College Lords’ six former athletes.

From the athletes named to the team, there are four previous league batting champions, seven different pitching champions and one multiple winner, current Conestoga College head coach, Fawn Day, who won the award in both 1994 and 1995 seasons. There are also three members who currently hold individual records, including Tara Mowder for most Hits in a Game with five, and Heather Anderson for most Runs Batted In over the course of a game with six. Debbie Wadsworth still holds two records including most Strike Outs in a game and in a Season with 16 and 119 respectively.

The All-Millennium teams were first announced in 2000, then recognizing teams for Volleyball and Basketball. This year the OCAA will recognize sixty-eight former athletes as members of the Women’s Fastball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Men’s and Women’s Badminton All-Millennium teams. These athletes will also be formally recognized at the OCAA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Windsor on April 29th, 2009.
