HAMILTON, Ont. - With the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association set to start its 2014-15 varsity sports programme in a couple of weeks, some Mohawk women's softball players and coaches distinguised themselves in the Ontario women's provincial softball intermediate championship this past weekend.
Returning Mountaineers Becky Rabchuk and Nicole Cain captured bronze medals with the Mississauga South West Hurricanes.
New recruit Rilee Wasilik, along with coaches John Paul and Brian Weller of the Hamilton Hurricanes won gold.
The Mohawk women begin OCAA play Saturday, Sept. 6, when Fanshawe visits for a twin bill at Mohawk Sports Park at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
