OCAA ANNOUNCES 2015 BASEBALL, SOFTBALL LEAGUE SCHEDULES

OCAA ANNOUNCES 2015 BASEBALL, SOFTBALL LEAGUE SCHEDULES

TORONTO - The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men's baseball and women's softball league schedules will begin on September 11, culminating with the provincial championships being held October 23-24.

A total of 60 baseball and 84 softball regular season games will take place on provincial diamonds this autumn. The softball schedule has been expanded in 2015 as teams will now play a pair of doubleheaders against each other, rather than three total games.

A rematch of last season's OCAA women's softball gold medal game highlights the league's opening night, as defending champion St. Clair College visits Conestoga College. The champions face another tough opponent on home turf two days later, as St. Clair hosts reigning bronze medalist Durham College.

St. Clair begins its title defence in men's baseball on September 12 as it visits reigning OCAA bronze medalist Fanshawe College.

Durham and St. Clair have squared off in the last two OCAA men's baseball gold medal games. These teams meet in a doubleheader on September 20 in Windsor, Ont., and two games October 4 in Oshawa, Ont.

Fanshawe plays host to the 2015 OCAA men's baseball championship, while Durham is the women's softball host. The top four teams regular season teams advance to each tournament.

OCAA will release its remaining league schedules for men's and women's volleyball along with men's and women's basketball later this week. Men's and women's soccer and rugby schedules were released earlier this week.

OCAA schedule dates, times and locations are subject to change.
