ST. CLAIR 23, MOHAWK 2

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Mohawk women's softball team struggled against the St. Clair Saints of Windsor in OCAA play on a blustery and sometimes showery afternoon at Mohawk Sports Park on Saturday.

Both games lasted only five innings and St. Clair scored in every inning save for one.

The Saints rolled to a 23-2 decision in Game 1, as Allie Telfer beat Aimee Leduc.

The Mountaineers then lost the second game, 16-3. Leduc again was charged with the defeat, while Jenna Pierce picked up the victory.

With the two losses, Mohawk's record fell to 3-3. That's because the Mountaineers picked up two wins against Conestoga on opening day as the Condors forfeited both decisions for using an ineligible player.

Therefore in the first win over Conestoga, Mohawk snapped a 54-game losing stead going back to September of 2011. The streak was 57 games, until until the forfeiture was imposed.
