The Humber Hawks men's golf team and the University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds women's golf team have been named the top post-secondary squads in Canada, according to a vote conducted by the Golf Coaches Association of Canada (GCAC) this past Monday.
Humber and UBC were both unanimous choices, receiving all six first place votes respectively.
During the fall semester, Humber's men's golf team captured their third consecutive PING Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Championship title and also earned the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men's golf team championship for the sixth year in a row.
The UBC women's golf team produced consecutive top-10 finishes at both the University of Washington Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate (NCAA Division I) and the Western Washington Fall Invitational (NCAA Division II) before wrapping-up their first-half schedule with a second place showing at the Sonoma State University Women's Invitational (NCAA Division II) in a competition that featured eight teams.
On the men's side, the Laval Rouge et Or ranked second and UBC came in third.
On the women's side, the University of Victoria Vikes finished second in the poll, edging out the Waterloo Warriors who placed third. See below for full rankings.
