HUMBER'S BEVAN 3-OVER AT WORLD UNIVERSITY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

After inclement weather and darkness forced multiple stoppages and the eventual suspension of play on Tuesday at the 14th World University Golf Championship at Ypsilon Golf Resort in Liberec, Czech Republic, the competition got back on track today under ideal conditions.

On the men's side, Charles Côté (Thetford Mines, Que. / Université Laval) again carded a second consecutive round of 3-under 69 on Wendesday to sit T8 at 6-under 138 – tops amongst Team Canada's six male competitors – entering third round action. Côté trails the Spanish trio of Carlos Pigem Xammar, Juan Sarasti Bernaras and Jacobo Pastor Lopez, all of whom sit atop the leaderboard at 11-under 133.

Simon Mcinnis (Toronto / University of Waterloo) and Chris Hemmerich (Kitchener, Ont. / University of Guelph) are T23 at 2-under 142, while Gajan Sivabalasingham (Ballantrae, Ont. / University of Waterloo) is T43 at 2-over 146. Christopher Bevan (Toronto / Humber College), meanwhile, is T52 at 3-over 147. Benjamin Bell (Ottawa / Humber College), who is T74, rounds out Team Canada's Men's Squad scoring at 12-over 154.

On the women's side, Megan Woodland (Victoria, B.C. / University of Victoria) is the top Canadian, currently T20 at 4-over 148, after carding a round of 3-over 75 today. Woodland, a runner-up in the women's division at the 2012 Canadian University/College Championship, trails leader Amy Anderson of the United States by 12 strokes heading into third round play. Devon Rizzo (Brantford, Ont. / University of Waterloo) is T33 at 6-over 150, while Kylie Barros (Edmonton / University of British Columbia) is T39 at 11-over 153. Alyssa Herkel (Port Alberni, B.C. / University of Victoria) and Brynn Tomie (Bedford, N.S. / University of Victoria) round out the Team Canada Women's Squad scoring, sitting T41 and 56th respectively.

Team Canada is tied for fifth in the men's team competition, trailing the leaders from Spain by 23 strokes, while the Canadian women areT11 in their team competition, trailing the leaders from the United States by 25 shots.
