CLEMENTS FINISHES FIRST AT THE FANSHAWE INVITATIONAL

LONDON, Ont. - Brent Clements (Pickering, Ont.) continued to have success on the OCAA golf tour as he posted another first place finish, this time at the Forest City National golf club in London, Ont.

In three tournaments this season, Clements has reached the podium in all of them which includes two first place finishes (DC Open and Fanshawe). His average score is 75 in the three tournaments, making him one of the favourites to medal at the upcoming OCAA championship. The three-round event is scheduled to run from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 at the Wildfire Golf Club in Lakefield, Ont. The last Durham student-athlete to win gold at the OCAA championship was current head coach Tyler Martin (2006).

The Lords also landed a spot on the podium as they finished third place overall in the team competition with a combined score of 325. Durham finished three strokes back of Georgian and seven of Humber who won the invitational title.

Durham is back on the course this week taking part in the Knights Fall Classic at Hunters Pointe Golf Club.
