WELLAND, Ont. - Mohawk's Mike Rizzetto finished tied for second place in the individual category at the Niagara Knights Fall Classic at Hunters Pointe Golf Club on Monday.
Rizzetto shot 72 to pace the Mohawk contingent at the Welland, Ont., layout. Other Mountaineer team scores included Cameron Garon (79), Ryan Ruttan (85) and Eric Derosa (96). The fifth member of the team, Jair Saenez did not finish.
Humber took the men's team title.
Three other Mohawk golfers were in the event as individuals. Kevin Gee shot 82, while Steve Toth carded 84 and Lukas Pavkovic shot 85.
The Mohawk women's tandem finished second in the women's team event behind St. Clair. Brooke Hoffner shot 92 and Danielle Wilkinson came in at 95.
Fleming College of Peterborough, Ont., will host the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association golf championships Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 at Wildfire Golf Club north of Lakefield, Ont.
