WELLAND, Ont. - It was another solid showing for the Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's golf teams on Monday at the Niagara College Invitational held at Hunters Pointe Golf Course in Welland, Ont.
Georgian's men's team had an impressive showing with their third straight second place finish, just a few strokes behind the Humber College team.
A pair of Grizzlies finished tied for second in the individual
standings with both Jeff Beedham (Georgetown,
Ont.) and Dan Knapp (Burlington, Ont.) shooting
rounds of 72, just two strokes behind the winner, Curtis
Hartley from Humber.
Previous individual winners already this season, Tyler
Cameron (Sturgeon Falls, Ont.) and Matt
Lemay (Waterloo, Ont.) both finished in the top 10.
Cory Pond (Simcoe, Ont.) was the top placing
Grizzlies women's golfer finishing in sixth place.
The Grizzlies will next take part in the OCAA championships which
take place Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 hosted by Fleming College.
