MOHAWK'S RIZZETTO IN THE HUNT IN CCAA GOLF

QUEBEC CITY - Mike Rizzetto of Mohawk College is tied for sixth place, three shots off the lead after one round of the PING Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Golf Championships in Quebec City on Wednesday.

Rizzetto carded five birdies and four bogeys en route to a one under par 71 on the 6,615 yard Lorette course. His score was the best among OCAA players.

"Mike played a solid round of golf today," said his coach Deborah Lee Eldridge. "The weather was challenging - rain for half the round. But it was a good first day for Mike."

Two players lead the field at four-under par 68. They are Jarred Calbeck of Camosun College and Etienne Papineau from host college Champlain St. Lawrence. They are a stroke ahead of Aaron Pauls of Fraser Valley Cascades and Adam Poulin of Champlain St. Lawrence.

The 54 hole event runs until Friday.
