FINAL ROUND OF CCAA GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP CANCELLED

QUEBEC CITY - Rain has washed out the third and final round of the PING Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Golf National Championships in Quebec City. The Lorette Club course was ruled unplayable at 10 a.m. on Friday and the leaders after two rounds were declared the winners.

Jarred Callbeck of Camosun College in Victoria took the men's individual crown with a score of 138, six-under par. He finished one shot ahead of Hugo Bernard from Cegep Andre-Laurendeau in LaSalle, Que.

Ontario champion Mike Rizzetto of Mohawk College ended up in a tie for 11th place, seven shots off the pace.

Holland College of Charlottetown won the men's team title, three strokes ahead of Camosun.

Lorelle Weavers of Niagara College took the women's title at eight-over par 154, two shots in front of Noemie Oullette of Champlain St. Lawrence College, the championship host.

But Champlain St. Lawrence scored a nine shot win in the women's team event.

Mohawk did not have a woman entered in the event.
