ST. CLAIR WOMEN'S GOLF TEAM FAILS TO GAIN GROUND

GUELPH, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's varsity golf team failed to gain any ground during the second round of the Canadian University/College Championship.

The championship is being played at Cutten Fields in Guelph, Ont., and is conducted by Golf Canada. Round 3 is scheduled for Thursday and the final round on Friday.

The Saints are currently in 10th place out of 12 schools taking part in the event. St. Clair is the only college taking part in this 13th annual tournament. Laura Martin (Chatham) led the way again for St. Clair with a round of 82. Her two day total of 165 (23 over) has her in 19th place out of 48 golfers. She is 16 strokes off the lead.

Other scores for St. Clair on the day were Ashley Unrau (St. Thomas) with an 85, Victoria Ducharme (Windsor) 95 and April Lesperance (Belle River) 103. The average score on the day for all of the female competitors was 84.99.
