ROBERTSON NAMED HEAD COACH OF FANSHAWE GOLF PROGRAM

LONDON, Ont. - Nathan McFadden, Manager of Athletics at Fanshawe College, announced today that Colin Robertson has been selected as the new head coach to lead the Fanshawe Falcons men's and women's golf program.

Robertson is an alumni of Fanshawe, completing the golf and club management program in 2008. He was also a member of the Falcons varsity golf team for two seasons. Since 2012, Robertson has been a professor at Fanshawe, teaching in the golf and club management program.

Robertson has an extensive background as an assistant professional at a number of clubs across Canada including Redwood Meadows (Calgary), Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge and the London Hunt and Country Club. Currently, Robertson is the associate professional at the Sunningdale Golf and Country Club.

"I am excited to have Colin as our new head coach and to be working with our student-athletes," said McFadden. "He has an abundance of experience gained teaching at some of the best golf clubs in the country, including two here in London. His passion and vision for our golf program combined with his clear drive to succeed will help us towards being competitive at the national level on a consistent basis."

"It is a wonderful honour to be chosen out of many applicants for the head coach position of the Fanshawe College varsity golf team," said Robertson. "As a former Falcon myself, I am very excited to start working with the athletics department, my coaching staff and the student-athletes to achieve meaningful results that will propel this program forward. This is an exciting time for the College and I hope to bring the best student-athletes both on and off the course to Fanshawe and firmly put the Falcons golf team in championship contention."
