WELLAND, Ont. - Brendan Gibson led the Mohawk contingent with a five-over par 75 in the opening round of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Golf Championships at Hunters Pointe Golf Course in Welland, Ont., on Monday.

Gibson is tied for 20th place in the field of 71 men.

Three Niagara players, Logan Lammerant, Josiah Dixon and Zachary Bankuti, matched one-under par 69 scores to share the lead on their home course.

Niagara has the lead in the men's team competition. Mohawk is 11th.

Lorelle Weavers leads the women's section following a 75. Humber leads the team event.

Mohawk is not represented in women's play.

The Mohawk men, who teed off on the No. 1 hole in round one, will start from No. 10 in Round 2 on Tuesday.
