WELLAND, Ont. - The Lords shot up the leaderboard on moving day at the OCAA championship as they had a team average of 72.5 to sit in third place in the team competition.

The Lords (team total - 595) are tied with the St. Lawrence Vikings (595) in third place, trailing the Niagara Knights (574) and Humber Hawks (577). Georgian (598) and Seneca (602) are also within striking distance of a podium finish.

The scheduled 54-hole tournament concludes Wednesday at Hunters Pointe Golf Club in Welland, Ont., and is hosted by Niagara College.

After shooting a pair of 81s on day one, Lewis Kertsos (Pickering, Ont.) and Brady Seguin (Stouffville, Ont.) had the biggest turnaround rounds. Kertsos had four birdies and an eagle en route to the second lowest round of the day at 1-under 69. Seguin was close behind with 14 pars and two birdies as he carded a 1-over 71.

Veteran Craig Conroy (Bowmanville, Ont.) has the Lords best two-round total, sitting in 11th place overall in the individual competition with a score of 147. Conroy opened his round with a triple bogey but managed to keep his composure and shot 1-over par over the next 17 holes.

Colin Jex (Port Hope, Ont.), who began the day tied with Conroy, slipped down the standings as he shot an 8-over 78. Like Conroy, Jex struggled on the par four first hole carding a seven.

Rounding out the Lords scores on day two was Stewart Muirhead (Lindsay, Ont.) who recorded a 6-over 76.
