INNISFIL, Ont. - Nic Francis of Mohawk College finished in eighth place in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Golf Championships presented by belairdirect.
Francis fired a final round 74, two-over-par, at the National Pines Golf Club at Innisfil, just south of Barrie, on Wednesday. After shooting each of his rounds in the 70s, Francis finished 54 holes at nine-over 225. He led his Mohawk team to a bronze medal in the Division II men's team competition.
The Division I title went to Niagara, which was paced by the men's individual winner, Josiah Dixon. After shooting par 72 in the final round, Dixon blazed to a six-under-par 210 for the championship and won in wire-to-wire fashion. Christian McCullough of Humber was runner-up, five strokes back.

Lorelle Weavers of Niagara successfully defended her women's individual crown but she was tested. Her seven-over-par 79 on the final day left her just one shot ahead of Addision Wallwin, of championship host Georgian College, which won the women's team title.
Mohawk's Morgan Giles carded a 93 on the final day and wound up in 11th place.
Jennafer Macdonell had to withdraw due to a wrist injury.
