On the women’s side Centennial College will look to make
it three Provincial titles in a row as the Colts head into Regional
action today. They will face a stern test though in the Central
East Region against Durham College, the winner of the recent Bruins
Invitational.
Durham comes into the Championship full of confidence with the
recent 1-0 finals victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers, and also
come in off a stellar outdoor season that saw the team from Oshawa
captured OCAA gold and finish fourth at the National
Championships.
Also in the hunt will be Mohawk and Humber College. Mohawk comes
into the tournament off the tough loss to Durham, but will be
looking for redemption. The two teams will square off in pool play
in what could play a pivotal game in the Championship. Humber will
also face Sheridan, Georgian and Confederation in pool play.
The Women’s West, Central West and Central East Regional
Championship is also currently underway in conjunction with the
Men’s Regional Championship. The East Regional Championship
is scheduled for March 9-10 also at St. Lawrence College Kingston
with the OCAA Provincial Championships also scheduled for March
22-23 at the OSA Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario.
