GEORGIAN INDOOR SOCCER OPENS SEASON

GEORGIAN INDOOR SOCCER OPENS SEASON

KITCHENER, Ont. -  The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's indoor soccer teams kicked off their 2015 OCAA season on Friday when they took part in the Conestoga Invitational.

The day long event is a test of endurance as much as skill and the Grizzlies showed good signs of both.

After dropping their first game 3-0 to Sheridan the Grizzlies men's team rallied off three straight victories over the hosts from Conestoga (2-0), Centennial (4-1), and Canadore (2-0).

This set up a final game against George Brown with the winner moving onto the finals. The Grizzlies put together a strong effort but came up short in the end falling to the Huskies by a 2-0 score.

On the women's side the Grizzlies played some very tight games against Sheridan, Centennial and Conestoga but couldn't get on the winning side of those games.

Georgian were able to break out offensively and end the tournament on a high note defeating Canadore 5-1.

Both Grizzlies team's will next compete in the George Brown Invitational on Feb. 6.
