ANCASTER, Ont. - The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's and Women's Indoor Soccer Championships take place Friday and Saturday at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ont.
Seneca looks to defend its women's title after going 3-0-0 in regional competition. The majority of players on the squad were members of the Sting outdoor team that won the OCAA championship and national bronze medal last autumn.
There will be a new men's champion in 2015 as defending gold medalist Redeemer failed to advance past regionals.
The top two teams from each of the four OCAA regionals advance to Friday's championship round robin, and are divided into two pools. The men's Pool 1 consists of Conestoga, George Brown, Humber and St. Clair while Pool 2 includes Centennial, Fleming, Seneca and Sheridan. The women's Pool 1 is comprised of Conestoga, Fanshawe, Humber and Seneca, while Centennial, Georgian, St. Clair and Sheridan make up Pool 2.
Each team will face the other three teams in its pool in a round robin format on Friday. The top two teams of each pool advance to Saturday's semi-finals, followed by bronze and gold medal matches.
