ST. CLAIR WOMEN'S INDOOR SOCCER TO PLAY FOR OCAA MEDAL

ANCASTER, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's indoor soccer team will be competing for a medal at the OCAA Indoor Soccer Championships presented by belairdirect on Saturday. The Saints ended robin play with a record of 3-0-1 after two days of play. The championships are being hosted by Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ont.

After going 2-0 on Thursday, the Saints started off Friday with a convincing 4-0 win over Redeemer to clinch a spot in the semi-finals. Melanie Jubenville (Windsor/St. Josephs's) led the way for the Saints scoring a hat trick. Julia Albeartie (Belle River/L'Essor) scored the other goal while Alexandria Samping (Windsor/Holy Names) earned the clean sheet and win.

In its second match of the day, St. Clair was taking on Humber to determine who would finish first and second in the pool. The Saints ended up playing a solid game against the Hawks ending in a 0-0 draw. Samping got the shutout in net. With the draw St. Clair earned first place in its pool.

St. Clair will play in the championship semi-final at 9:30 a.m. against Seneca on Saturday. The other semi-final will feature Humber taking on Fanshawe. The winners will play for gold at 12:30 p.m. while the losers will play for bronze.
