SHERIDAN'S SET TO TAKE FLIGHT AT NATIONALS

The Sheridan Bruins are ready to take on Canada’s best teams at the 2008 CN - CCAA Men’s National Basketball Championships at Champlain College Saint Lambert. The Oakville college enters the tournament as the third seed and a favourite to medal.

Sheridan will meet host Champlain College Saint Lambert in first round action on Thursday night at 8:30. The Bruins bolster an intimidating lineup with OCAA West First Team All-star Tad Donaldson in the backcourt, accompanied by twin towers Nigel Johnson-Tyghter (OCAA West Second Team All-star) and Shane Reece (OCAA Championship Tournament MVP).

Sheridan last competed for a National Championship in 2006 on their home court, winning a silver medal.

The event will kick off with the CCAA All Canadian Banquet to be held at College Durocher on Wednesday, March 12th at 18h00. Durham’s Anthony Batchelor and Fleming’s Neil O’Sullivan will be honoured as CCAA All-Canadians. Also to be announced will be the CCAA Player of the Year and the Coaching Excellence Award.
