NIAGARA 80, ST. CLAIR 69

WELLAND, Ont. - The St. Clair men's basketball team were on the short end of an 80-69 decision against Niagara College Sunday in Welland, Ont.

Niagara shot very well in the first half (55 per cent) staking themselves to a 43-31 lead by halftime and were able to hold off a late charge by the Saints who cut the lead to just five points in the fourth quarter. St. Clair could not capitalize on their opportunities, however, and faded down the stretch.

Jermaine Lynch (Windsor, Ont./JL Forster) led the Saints in scoring with 14 points adding five rebounds. Point guards Charles Baskin (Detroit, Mich.) and Max Reiner (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst) each scored 13 points while Malique Calloo (Windsor, Ont./Catholic Central) also reached double figures with 10 points to go with six rebounds for St. Clair.

Niagara's Jordan McDonald (Mississauga, Ont.) led all scorers with 21 points to lead his team in the victory.
