HUMBER 82, MOHAWK 75

TORONTO - Mohawk's basketball teams both went down to defeat at Humber as the second half of the season in the OCAA got under way.

In men's play, the Hawks handed the Mountaineers an 82-75 setback, ending Mohawk's nine-game win streak.

Kareem Collins had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Mountaineers. Lamar Barr scored 17, Kojo Afari and Adrian Achonwa each had nine points and four boards.

While Mohawk's record fell to 9-1,  Humber improved to 7-3 and into a four-way logjam with Niagara, Sheridan and Lambton in the West Division.

Meanwhile, the Mohawk women lost 62-55 to Humber.

Stef Hrymak led the Mountaineers with 17 points, while JenJen Abella had 10.

Humber upped its mark to 10-0, while Mohawk fell to 7-3.

Mohawk will be home to Niagara Wednesday, Jan. 20. The women will play at 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m., at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre.
