MOHAWK 94, HUMBER 78

HAMILTON, Ont. - It was Friday the 13th, but the Mohawk men's basketball team wasn't fazed by superstition as it improved its record to 4-0 with a 94-78 win over arch-rival Humber at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre in Hamilton, Ont.

The Mountaineers got off to a fairly slow start, trailing the Hawks 20-17 after the first quarter, but then forged ahead to lead 46-35 at the half.

Mohawk outscored Humber 23-18 in the third period, and played even-up with the visitors from Etobicoke, Ont., in the final quarter.

It was an important game. The Hawks had their three game win string snapped and saw their record drop to 3-3.

Lamar Barr was the big gun for Mohawk with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Xzennis Brereton had 19 points and seven boards. Kojo Afari added 10 points, two assists and two blocked shots.

For Humber, Gibson Eduful collected 21 points, Baljyot Judge scored 18 and Brayden Gohn chipped in with 15.
