SHERIDAN 86, ST. CLAIR 72

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair men's basketball team opened their 2015-16 campaign with an 86-72 loss to Sheridan College (Brampton, Ont.) at the SportsPlex Saturday night.

Sheridan shot the ball well early and staked themselves a comfortable lead (42-31) at halftime over the Saints. St. Clair surged in the third quarter cutting the deficit to just 46-43 but Sheridan responded to the 12-4 run and still maintained a 63-50 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

St. Clair put a mild scare into the visitors by closing to within 81-72 in the game's final two minutes but could come no closer.

Rookie guard Trevon Mollison (Brampton, Ont.) and Charles Baskin (Detroit, Mich.) each scored 13 points to lead the Saints in scoring. Post Patrick Donnelly (Oakville, Ont.) had an impressive double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds adding four assists for St. Clair.

Sheridan's Dylan Periana (Brampton, Ont.) and Brian Owusu (Mississauga, Ont.) each scored a game-high 18 points to lead their team in the victory.
