CHARLOTTETOWN - The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association is proud to announce the 2017 CCAA Men's Basketball All-Canadians.
The student-athletes, who are selected by their conference based on performance and contribution to the sport and their team, were honoured at a banquet during the 2017 CCAA Men's Basketball National Championship at Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI.
Here are the 2017 CCAA Men's Basketball All-Canadians:
Ajahmo Clarke - George Brown Grizzlies
Clarke led the Grizzlies to a 19-1 record and first-place finish in the OCAA East Division. George Brown was also victorious at the David Stewart Tip-off Tournament. The fifth-year guard, who became the OCAA's all-time leading scorer this season, was second in the conference with 23 points per game. Clarke's laid-back demeanor belies a game in which the 6-foot-3 guard seems to score at will. He is a selfless teammate who always puts the team first.
Rayvon Higdon - Redeemer Royals
The OCAA Player of the Year, Redeemer's first ever in men's basketball, led the conference with 26.3 points per game. Higdon, a fourth-year guard, was Top 5 in the conference in points, assists, steals, defensive rebounds, field goals and free throws. The two-time CCAA All-Canadian was called upon to lead a young squad to new heights and he delivered, leading the league in scoring and singlehandedly putting the Royals on the basketball landscape in the OCAA.
