CHARLOTTETOWN - The Sheridan Bruins are one victory away from their first men's basketball national title since 1990.

Sheridan won its semi-final game 93-81 against CCAA Men's National Basketball Championship host Holland, setting up a showdown against the Nomades de Montmorency.

Sheridan is currently undefeated in OCAA and CCAA regular and post-season play.

CCAA Bronze Quarter-Final #1: Lethbridge Kodiaks 91, George Brown Huskies 68 

After struggling offensively in the first quarter, the Kodiaks outscored the Huskies 30-8 in the second frame to take a 48-23 lead going into halftime, and never looked back.

The Kodiaks dominated the second half, leading by 37 points at one but, and cruised to a 91-68 victory.

Grady Taylor paced the seventh-seeded Kodiaks with 19 points, six rebounds and three assists to take Player of the Game honours, while Ted Johnson earned the distinction for the sixth-seeded George Brown, leading the team with 15 points coming off the bench.

The Hurricanes came out firing in front of their home crowd, building a 14-0 lead in the game’s first four minutes.

However, the Bruins battled back, cutting Holland College’s lead to 46-43 lead going into halftime.

Sheridan jumped out of the gate in the third quarter, building a double-digit lead before the Hurricanes came back, with a Chicken Whyley slam giving Holland College a 66-65 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

However, the Bruins kept their perfect season intact, taking the lead late in the fourth and not looking back.
