LAMBTON 93, MOHAWK 88

HAMILTON, Ont. - Mohawk's basketball teams divided a pair of decisions with Lambton in OCAA action at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre on Friday.

The Lambton men came storming out of the gate, taking a 9-0 lead, then had to hold on to beat Mohawk 93-88.

The Mountaineers, who were down by 19 points with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, battled valiantly in the final quarter, getting the deficit to three points on a couple of occasions, but couldn't prevent the Lions from finishing a wire-to-wire triumph.

Branden Padgett of the Lions scored a game-best 29 points and added 10 rebounds, including nine on the defensive boards. Jason Marshell scored 19 points and Xavian Edwards contributed 18 points.

For the Mountaineers, Mat Elcock had 23 points, Lamar Barr scored 22 and Jailen Baily had 19 points.

The Mountaineers dropped their fifth straight game and saw their record slip to 4-7. Lambton won for the third straight game and improved to 3-7.
