TORONTO - Chad Vincent-Simon (Scarborough) of St. Clair College is the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Basketball Player of the Year.
The fifth-year forward was among the top scorers during the regular season, leading the Saints to a West Division championship. Vincent-Simon averaged 18.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, and had a run of scoring 30 or more points in three of four games back in January. Also named a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Canadian, the West Division Player of the Year headlines the West Division First-Team All-Stars.
O'Shane Taylor-Douglas (Scarborough) of Durham College is the East Division Player of the Year. The fifth-year guard led all OCAA players with 139 assists and was second in steals with 60. Averaging 15.4 points per game, Taylor-Douglas is also a CCAA All-Canadian, the East Division Defensive Player of the Year and an East Division First-Team All-Star.
Jalen Menzies (Malton) of Humber College is also a CCAA All-Canadian. The fourth-year point guard was one of four OCAA student-athletes to average better than 20 points per game during the regular season and led the league with 63 steals. Menzies is also a West Division First-Team All-Star.
St. Clair's Andrew Loyuk (Windsor) is the OCAA Rookie of the Year. The guard was fourth among all players with 77 assists, averaging 11.9 points per game. The West Division Rookie of the Year is also a West Division Second-Team All-Star and headlines the West Division All-Rookie Team.
Humber's Omar Miles is the OCAA Coach of the Year. The Hawks went from a .500 squad last season to a 13-5 record in 2023-24, good for second place in the West Division. The West Division Coach of the Year is also the nominee for CCAA Coach of the Year.
Tavonn Mars-Buckley (Toronto) of Centennial College is the East Division Rookie of the Year. The forward contributed 17.4 points per game for a Colts team that saw a five-win improvement this season. Mars-Buckley is also an East Division Second-Team All-Star and headlines the East Division All-Rookie Team.
Durham's Desmond Rowley is the East Division Coach of the Year. Rowley led the Lords to a league-best 17-1 record and East Division championship which included a 15-game winning streak to end the regular season.
JK Thomas (Marion, Ind.) of Lambton College is the OCAA Scoring Champion averaging 26.1 points per game totalling 469 points in 18 contests. The third-year guard and West Division Scoring Champion is also a West Division First-Team All-Star.
Jayden Jack (Toronto) of Loyalist College is the East Division Scoring Champion. The second year point guard averaged 21.7 points per game totalling 391 points in 18 contests. Jack is also an East Division First-Team All-Star.
Terence Williams (Windsor) of Fanshawe College is the West Division Defensive Player of the Year. The fifth-year guard contributed 79 defensive rebounds, 40 steals and 19 blocks in 16 games. Williams is also a West Division Second-Team All-Star.
Jeremiah Brown (Scarborough) of George Brown College is the East Division Sixth Man of the Year. The fifth-year forward averaged 15.1 points per game coming off the bench in 15 of 18 games played. Brown is also an East Division Second-Team All-Star.
Humber's Kyle Brown-Fazekas (Windsor) is the West Division Sixth Man of the Year. The second-year guard averaged 11.1 points per game coming off the bench in all 18 games for the Hawks.
Durham and Niagara College are the East and West Division Best Defensive Team, respectively.
In addition to Vincent-Simon, Menzies and Thomas, West Division First-Team All-Stars include Aidan Whalen (Cambridge) of Fanshawe; and Jerry Jr Mercury (Scarborough) of Mohawk College. Joining Taylor-Douglas and Jack as East Division First-Team All-Stars are Deandre Goulbourne (Toronto) of Centennial; Christian Tabiri (Toronto) of George Brown; and Calvin Ko (Toronto) of Seneca Polytechnic.
Along with Loyuk and Williams, West Division Second-Team All-Stars include Malik Grant (Brampton) of Humber; Iverson Chong (Oakville) of Mohawk; Jesiah Deerr (Whitby) of St. Clair; and Travis Clouden (Brampton) of Sheridan College.
Joining Mars-Buckley and Brown as East Division Second-Team All-Stars are Nelson Cilien (Montréal-Nord) of Collège La Cité; Mark Stoop (Oshawa) of Durham; and Jacob Masters (Toronto) of George Brown.
In addition to Loyuk, West Division All-Rookie Team members include Kwabena Antwi (Toronto) of Humber; Brandon Bogart (St. Thomas) of Lambton; Chong of Mohawk; and Jeziyah Excell-Johnson (Mississauga) of Sheridan.
Along with Mars-Buckley, the East Division All-Rookie Team is made up of Ricardo Jeanty (Montréal) of La Cité; Jasean Elliott (Toronto) and Rudy Fakih (Toronto) of Durham; and Alex Arsenault (Picton) of Loyalist.
