GEORGIAN MEN'S RUGBY WIN BRONZE WITH WIN OVER FLEMING

BARRIE, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby team battled the Fleming Knights in the OCAA bronze medal game on Saturday afternoon at J.C. Massie Field in Barrie, Ont.

Both teams battled frigid temperatures with snow present on the sidelines, but the pitch was clear as the two OCAA division champions gave it all they had in the final game of the season.

The Grizzlies and Knights went back-and-forth with each team leading the game twice. Nana Ntim (Bradford) scored his second try of the game in the final moments of the first half to give the Grizzlies a 20-19 lead at halftime.

Georgian took their game to another level in the second half scoring 24 points on four tries and two converts from Noah Spicer (Aurora) to win the bronze medal game 44-31 over the Knights.

Henry Do (Brampton) had a huge game leading the Grizzlies with three tries and was named player of the match for the home side. Georgian's other tries were scored by Jordan Carppi (Lindsay), Mark Rodman (Minesing) and Albert Calamatta (Erin).

Corey Finch (Peterborough) was named player of the match for Fleming.

This is the third straight medal for Georgian's men's rugby team having won gold and silver the previous two seasons.
