ALGONQUIN THUNDER MEN TO COMPETE IN GOLD MEDAL FINAL AT CCAA SOCCER NATIONALS

BURNABY, B.C. – The Algonquin Thunder Men’s Soccer Team have not disappointed their fans as they’re set to play in the gold medal final at the 2006 ADIDAS/Canadian Colleges Athletic Association CCAA Soccer National Championships in Vancouver.

The Thunder defeated Langara College (Vancouver) 4-0 and MacEwan College (Edmonton) 7-1 to advance to the Gold Medal Fina. The Lords will face Champlain College (Quebec) in the gold medal match to take place Saturday November 11th at 4:00pm PST.

On the women’s side the Lords couldn’t capitalize over the defending champions Langara College out of Vancouver. The Lords opened the tournament with a convincing 8-0 win over Nova Scotia Agricultural College (Halifax) but then fell to the host Langara College 3-1 in the second match of the tournament. The Lords are set to take on FX Garneau in the Bronze Medal Match Saturday November 11th at 11:00am PST.
