ELLIS, FOWLES NAMED OCAA SOCCER ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) soccer student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 25.

MALE: Cameo Ellis, Sheridan

Coming off a season where he was named an all-Canadian, Sheridan's Cameo Ellis scored a pair of goals in a 5-1 win at Lambton on Saturday. The OCAA all-star defender doubled his total 2010 offensive output in just one match. Sheridan is coming off an OCAA silver medal performance in 2010 as it aims this season to reach the pinnacle of OCAA men's soccer for the first time since 1992.

FEMALE: Samantha Fowles, Conestoga

Samantha Fowles had an OCAA debut to remember last Friday, scoring all three goals in Conestoga's season opening 3-0 win over Mohawk. Fowles is among the OCAA league leaders in goals through two games. Conestoga fell short in last year's OCAA quarter-finals, losing to Seneca in penalty kicks. Conestoga has not won an OCAA championship since 1992.
