HUMBER STILL TOPS IN OCAA MEN'S SOCCER RANKINGS

TORONTO - The Humber Hawks picked up two more wins this week to remain No. 1 in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men's soccer Top 5 rankings.

1. Humber Hawks (Last Week - 1)
(Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Rank - 1)

Defending OCAA champion Humber (4-0-0) remains unbeaten following home victories over Conestoga and Fanshawe this week.

Mario Orestano scored a pair of goals in a 3-0 victory over Conestoga on Wednesday.

Humber edged Fanshawe 2-1 on Saturday. Stavros Badunas and Yousif Yousif both scored for Humber.

Humber concludes the home portion of its regular season schedule with games against Redeemer on Tuesday and Mohawk on Friday.

2. Sheridan Bruins (Last Week - 2)
(CCAA Rank - 4)

Defending OCAA silver medalist Sheridan (3-0-0) edged Conestoga 1-0 on Saturday to keep its record unblemished.

David Velastegui scored the game-winner for the Bruins.

Sheridan hosts Fanshawe on Tuesday followed by a game at Niagara on Friday.

3. Seneca Sting (Last Week - 3)
(CCAA Rank - 14)

Defending OCAA bronze medalist Seneca Sting (1-0-0) began its regular season on a winning note, defeating Centennial on the road 2-0 on Tuesday.

Cristian Rodrigues and Cordell Benjamin both scored for Seneca in the victory.

Seneca entertains Durham at home on Wednesday before visiting St. Lawrence-Kingston on Friday.

4. Algonquin Thunder (Last Week - 5)

Algonquin (3-0-0) has not allowed a goal in three matches this season, including two road contests. As a result, the Thunder jumps one spot in the rankings.

Algonquin picked up a 2-0 win at Fleming-Peterborough on Friday, followed by a 6-0 win at Durham on Saturday. Abdul Ibrahim scored three goals, including two against Durham.

Algonquin hosts back-to-back matches this weekend, facing George Brown on Friday and Centennial on Saturday.

5. Mohawk Mountaineers (Last Week - 4)

Mohawk (2-1-1) dropped a 5-2 decision at Fanshawe on Wednesday, but followed this up with a 3-2 victory over St. Clair on Friday and 7-1 win over Lambton. Both victories came at home.

Adam Petrina scored four goals in three matches, including two against Lambton. Alex Pereira contributed one goal in each match.

Mohawk hosts Niagara on Tuesday before visiting No. 1 Humber on Friday.
