SHERIDAN EDGES ST. CLAIR 1-0 IN OCAA MEN’S SOCCER SEMI-FINAL

VAUGHAN, Ont. - A first half goal by striker Jonathan Costa was all the Sheridan Bruins needed as they defeated St. Clair 1-0 in a semi-final match at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Soccer Championship on Friday.

The win sends reigning silver medalist Sheridan to its second straight OCAA gold medal match. The Bruins are now undefeated in 10 regular season and post-season matches in 2011.

Costa was named player of the game for Sheridan. St. Clair defender Mitch Trevisol was named player of the game for the Saints.

Sheridan meets Humber in a rematch of last season's OCAA gold medal game. Humber and Sheridan had identical 7-0-1 records during the regular season after battling each other to a scoreless draw on Oct. 12. Humber rallied to edge Sheridan 2-1 in last year's championship final.

St. Clair faces Conestoga in the bronze medal match. Conestoga defeated St. Clair 2-1 on Oct. 13.

All games will take place at The Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ont. The men's gold medal match will be webcast live on Sportslive.ca.
