FANSHAWE ANNOUNCES 2015-16 MEN'S SOCCER COACHING STAFF ADDITIONS

LONDON, Ont. - Fanshawe Athletics announced today the additions to its men's soccer coaching staff for the 2015-16 season.

Joining new head coach Rob Pereira will be assistant coach Denny Rodrigues, as well as associate coaches Mark Magier and Mark Fernandes.

Rodrigues joins the Falcons with many years of both playing and coaching experience. Rodrigues played for the Falcons men's soccer team during the 1998-99 season. Currently, Rodrigues head coaches teams for both the North London Soccer Club and the Middlesex United Soccer Club. He is also the assistant coach of the youth development program in the North London Soccer Club.

Magier is no stranger to the Falcons. Magier played for the Falcons for three seasons from 1999 to 2002. In his final season, he scored 13 goals in just 10 games and was named the OCAA west division scoring champion as well as a CCAA all-Canadian. He won two OCAA bronze medals with the Falcons in 2000 and 2001. On the coaching side, Magier helped coach the London White Eagles from 2009 to 2014.

Fernandes comes to the Falcons after playing three seasons as a member of the York University varsity soccer team. He also was a member of the Benfica Shockers in 2008 when they won the Canadian national futsal championship. Fernandes has been the goalkeeper coach with a number of programs including the North London Soccer Club and the London Elite.
