FANSHAWE 4, CONESTOGA 0

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe men's soccer team defeated the Conestoga Condors (0-3-1) by a final score of 4-0 at home on Saturday. Fanshawe continues to lead the OCAA west division with a current record of 3-0-1.

Fanshawe was in control from the start of the game, with numerous opportunities to score. The Falcons first scored in the 35th minute, when Brent Anderson's beautiful cross set up Chad Gopaul for the header. In the 39th minute, Yasmine Halkic beat the goalie and made Fanshawe's lead 2-0. The Falcons outshot the Condors 8-1 in the first half.

The opening goal after the break belonged to the Falcons, when Cedric N'Guessen scored in the 51st minute. The final goal of the match was scored in the 60th minute, when Alberto Barquin extended the Fanshawe lead to 4-0. Fanshawe controlled the play for the majority of the game, as shots on goal were 12-1 in favour of the Falcons.

Fanshawe will take the field again on Tuesday, Sept. 29 when they head to Sarnia to play against the Lambton Lions at 5 p.m.
