FANSHAWE 3, ST. CLAIR 2

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe men's soccer team defeated the St. Clair Saints (4-2-1) by a final score of 3-2 at home on Wednesday. The Falcons record is now 6-0-1 on the season.

In the opening half, Fanshawe scored first, when in the 14th minute Cedric N'Guessen placed a chip shot into the corner of the net. St. Clair then responded with a goal by Martin Nyul in minute 24 to tie the game at one. Saints forward Stefan Milidrag added a goal in the 31st minute to put the Saints up 2-1 at half.

After the break, Mike Marcoccia scored from a penalty kick in the 51st minute after a hand ball by the Saints defender. Soon after, N'Guessen put the Falcons back on top when he claimed his second goal of the game in the 53rd minute of play. Fanshawe held on to the lead for the remainder of the game, defeating the St. Clair Saints 3-2.

The Falcons will take the field again on Wednesday, Oct. 14 when they will travel to Hamilton to play against the Mohawk Mountaineers (2-3-1). The last time the teams met, the final score was 3-0 in favour of the Falcons.

LONDON, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's soccer team travelled to London, Ont., on Wednesday and dropped a close match to the top-ranked Fanshawe Falcons by a score of 3-2.

The Saints went down 1-0 in the 14th minute but responded on a goal by Martin Nyul in the 24th minute. St. Clair went up 2-1 in the 31st minute on a tally by Stefan Milidrag. However, the Saints could not hold off the Falcons who scored two unanswered goals in the 51st and 53rd minutes to take the win.

The Saints are now 4-2-1 on the season while Fanshawe improved to 6-0-1. St. Clair is still in second place in the West Division with 13 points. Fanshawe is ranked second in Ontario and eighth in Canada while St. Clair is ranked fourth in Ontario. The Saints are next in action at on Wednesday, Oct. 13 when they travel to Sarnia to take on the Lambton Lions.
