ST. CLAIR 2, FANSHAWE 1

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's soccer team wrapped up their OCAA regular season with a solid win over the Fanshawe Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the Main Campus Field. The game did not matter to either team in the standings so both teams rested some of their starters for the upcoming playoffs. The Falcons are ranked second in Ontario and seventh in Canada. Fanshawe defeated St. Clair by a score of 3-2 in London, Ont., on Oct. 7.

Fanshawe got on the board early on a great shot by Mike Marcoccia in the first minute of play. The rest of the first half was pretty even with neither team having any great chances. St. Clair had a much better second half and tied the score on a penalty kick by Stefan Milidrag in the 65th minute after Yale Chadsey was taken down on the box. The Saints got the winning goal in the 85th minute on a goal by Glenroy Roper from a scramble around the net. Justin Danelon was solid in goal making some tough saves late to earn the win.

The Saints ended their regular season with a record of 7-2-1 and in second place in the OCAA West Division just one point behind the Falcons. St. Clair will host a cross-over playoff match on Saturday, Oct. 24 against Fleming College at 3:30 p.m. Fleming finished in fourth place in the East Division with a record 3-4-3. St. Clair is currently ranked fourth in Ontario and for the first time this season made the CCAA national rankings in 14th place.
