HUMBER 6, MOHAWK 1

ANCASTER, Ont. - The defending champion Humber Hawks whipped the Mohawk Mountaineers 6-1 in quarter-final play at the belairdirect OCAA Men's Soccer Championship in Ancaster, Ont., on Thursday. Mohawk now goes to the consolation side of the championship.

The Mountaineers made two early mistakes and found themselves down 2-0 in the first six minutes, as Humber's Michael Aigbokie scored in the second minute and Marcos Nunes counted in the sixth minute.

The score remained the same for the rest of the first half, but in the second period Mohawk conceded four more times. Patrick Majcher, Gianlucas Scorzafave, Joe Tituana and Jordan Piccinin got the goals.

The Mountaineers finally got on the board with a quarter of an hour left, thanks to their Player of the Game, Joseph Barkovich.

Mohawk will play championship host Redeemer Friday at 9 a.m. The Royals bowed 2-1 to George Brown in their quarter-final.

Niagara nipped St. Clair 2-1 in extra time and Algonquin shaded Fanshawe 2-1.
