ST. CLAIR 4, MOHAWK 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College varsity soccer teams picked up two big wins on Friday afternoon as they hosted the Mohawk Mountaineers at the Main Campus Field.

The St. Clair men defeated the top ranked Mountaineers by a score of 4-0. Heading into the match Mohawk was ranked third in Ontario and 12th in Canada. Martin Nyul put the Saints up 1-0 in the seventh minute. Stefan Milidrag made it 2-0 for St. Clair in the 29th minute. The first half was played fairly even with St. Clair outshooting Mohawk 8-6. St. Clair led in shot attempts 14-10.

The Saints took over the match in the second half. Milidrag notched his second of the game in the 73rd minute to put St. Clair up 3-0. Luca Pasani finished the scoring in the 90th minute to make it 4-0. Keeper Shane Beaton earned the win and clean sheet but he had to turn aside a penalty kick in the 84th minute to do so. Shots on goal in the second half were 11-3 for the Saints and shot attempts were 14-4 for St. Clair.

The win improved the Saint's record to three wins and a loss. The loss dropped the Mountaineers record to two wins and a loss. The St. Clair men's next match is on Sunday at 4 p.m. when they host the Conestoga Condors at the Main Campus Field.

WINDSOR, Ont. - The Mohawk men's soccer team lost for the first time this early OCAA season, 4-0 at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ont., on Friday. The Mountaineers are now 2-1.

Stefan Milidrag potted two for the Saints.

Mohawk head coach, Richard Bennett, said it was not good. "(It was) just a total lack-lustre display," said the coach.

But Bennett said the team's looking to move on to Sarnia, Ont., on Saturday, when they'll meet the Lambton Lions.
