ST. CLAIR 3, LAMBTON 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair men's soccer team continued their OCAA schedule on Tuesday evening taking on the Lambton Lions (Sarnia) at the Main Campus Field.

The St. Clair men had a strong match coming away with a convincing 3-0 win over the Lions. Martin Nyul (Hungary) got the Saints on the board early scoring a nice goal in the 11th minute. Evan Mendonca (London) put the Saints up 2-0 on a nice header in the 17th minute. Korede Adepitan (Toronto) made it 3-0 for St. Clair in the 26th minute. The Saint dominated the play most of the first half with 15 shot attempts compared to five for Lambton. St. Clair had seven shots on goal while the Lions had two.

The second half was much closer as the Lions pushed hard to even the gap and the Saints sat back and defended their lead but neither squad could put one in the back of the net. The shot attempts were even at eight with Lambton putting four shots on goal compared to two for St. Clair. Petur Mar Bernhoft (Iceland) earned the win and clean sheet in goal.

The St. Clair men are currently ranked fifth in the OCAA and improved to 2-0 on the season with the win. The St. Clair men resume their OCAA schedule on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. when they host the Niagara College Knights at the Main Campus Field.

The St. Clair women will take on Lambton on Wednesday Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. at the Main Campus Field.
