HUMBER FALLS SHORT OF MEDAL AT MEN'S VOLLEYBALL NATIONALS

SHERBROOKE, Que. - The Humber Hawks lost their bid to advance to the national bronze medal game as the were defeated 3-1 by last year's gold medalists, from Limoilou.

Humber played the last game of the night on Friday, in the championship semi finals. They lost a tight one to UBCO and had to come back Saturday morning to play this bronze semi final.

The scores from the game were 24-26,25-22,16-25,19-25.

The Hawks may have had a better fate if they could have held off Limoilou in the first set, which went extra points.

Humber responded and took the second, to tie the match.

The exhaustion took its toll on the Hawks as they were unable to muster a fight in the last two sets.

The official finish for the Humber squad is fifth in the nation.

Matt Isaacs was selected as the Player of the Game for Humber.

The All Stars will be announced at the conclusion of the tournament, and the Hawks should place a player among this group.
