BARRIE, Ont. - The Mohawk Mountaineers have advanced to the semi-finals of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Men's Volleyball Championship in Barrie, Ont.

The Mountaineers swept Algonquin College of Ottawa, the East Division's top seed, 25-21, 28-26, 25-23 at Georgian College on Thursday.

Marcin Jedrzejewski had nine kills and five service aces to lead Mohawk, the fourth-seeded team in the West, to victory. Trevor McLaughlin had 11 kills and rookie Bryce Marcussen, who earlier in the day picked up numerous individual awards at the OCAA banquet, contributed six kills and seven stuff blocks.

The Mountaineers will face Fanshawe College in the semi-finals Friday afternoon. The Falcons swept George Brown Huskies in their quarter-final.
