MOHAWK STILL IN BRONZE MEDAL HUNT IN CCAA MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. - In a match that could have gone either way, Mohawk College ended up sweeping St. Thomas Tommies of Fredericton at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Volleyball National Championship in New Westminster, B.C. on Friday.

The term 'see-saw battle' might be over-used, but not in this case, as the two teams failed to win any set in regulation, but Mohawk prevailed 26-24, 26-24, 27-25.

Trevor McLaughlin had 14 kills, one ace and 10 digs for the Mountaineers. Cody Charlton had eight kills, three aces and two blocks, Paul Wagner produced eight kills, Ben Tonin had 18 digs and Mohawk's Player of the Match with two kills and 35 assists was Chris Spack.

Stephane Blinn was the Tommies' big gun with 23 kills and won their Player of the Match.

Mohawk will be on the floor at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday to face the loser of the Fanshawe-Limoilou match. The Mountaineers need two more wins to get a bronze medal.
