MOHAWK 3, FLEMING 0

TORONTO - It was an exciting start to the OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship as the underdog Mohawk Mountaineers upset the Fleming Knights with a decisive 3-0 win.

The Mountaineers jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the first set, but the powerful Fleming Knights roared back to tie it up 4-4.

The Mountaineers had a tough time taking control of the first set, struggling early with their servicing. After falling down 13-10, a timeout saw the momentum change as Mohawk went on an 11-3 run to take a 21-16 lead. The Mountaineers were able to hold on to win the first set 25-19.

In the second set, the two teams continued their back and forth battle. Neither team was able to grab the momentum until the Mountaineers pulled off four straight points to take a 24-17 lead. The Knights would not go away quietly though as they rallied off four quick points of their own, only to fall short to the Mountaineers 25-21.

The third set saw the Mountaineers step onto the court determined to earn a sweep, opening the set with a 5-0 lead. The Mountaineers refused to take their foot off the gas, winning the third set by a commanding 25-10 score and sweeping the Fleming Knights to advance to the OCAA semifinals.
