HAMILTON, Ont. - The Mohawk Mountaineers opened their OCAA volleyball seasons with 3-0 wins over Conestoga.

The Mountaineer women downed the Condors 25-12, 25-7, 25-8.

Yvonne Mann had seven kills, four service aces and one block, plus 15 assists. Amanda Kuiper had seven kills and five aces, plus 18 assists and Jasmine Zanussi came up with six kills, two aces and one block.

For Conestoga, Brittany Gulic had four kills and Kyla Boutin contributed 10 assists.

Meanwhile, the Mohawk men downed Conestoga 25-23, 25-18, 25-22.

Trevor McLaughlin made 14 kills, had two aces and two blocks; Mitch McFadden finished with seven kills, one ace and two blocks; Eric Girard had eight kills and one block; Nathan Delguidice contributed six kills and two blocks; and Paul Wagner had six kills, one ace and one block.

Chris Spack had 40 assists in the win.

For Conestoga, Wesley Lau had eight kills and two blocks. Kell McGuire produced 21 assists.
